I came across some really nice reviews concerning Dr. Cooper. After reading them, and speaking to a mutual friend who was a patient I decided to check her out.

I was impressed with her before and after breast augmentation client gallery. Her clients had natural looking breast; not looking like Balloons or like a Barbie doll.

I decided to call the office, which I happen to call on a Monday. I spoke with a delightful woman who answered all of my questions and was very informative. I explained my out of town situation and she came up with some ideas of how we could get everything done in a week; the PreOp, and surgery. At the end of the conversation, to my surprise, she introduced herself as Dr. Cooper and that the office is closed on Mondays and she happened to be there to pick something up when I rang the phone.

I was so delighted and excited.

After all my research I decided to make the trip. I know in this blog I frequently have referred to Dr. Cash as my surgeon of choice. But I decided to go to New Orleans so that I would also have a chance to visit.

Did Nicki Minaj get Breast Implants, Butt Injections or Butt Implants?

Why is this a question on people’s mind? People don’t ask weather or not Christina Aguilar bleaches her hair! But Nicki is so exotic and so beautiful that those wanting to copy her gotta know what’s up so that they can go cop that body! And yes, all the haters, you just mad cause you don’t have the courage to do it!

Well for the sake of talking let’s examine the before and after. And the Techniques that yield the after.

Butt Injections

The technical name for butt injections is Gluteal Augmentation/Gluteoplasty. It takes about 1-2 hours to complete and leaves a small, discrete scar. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to recoup and the patient must sleep face down for 2 weeks following surgery.

So did she have Butt Injections?

Or did she have a Serious Brazilian Butt Lift?

The Brazilian Butt lift is a type of butt augmentation procedure with the end game being a youthful, perky, more sensual rear end, ultimately enhancing the over body profile.

The Brazilian Butt Lift uses Fat taken from other parts of the body and injecting the transferred fat into the butt.

Butt Implants are another way that the Butt can be enlarged.

Butt Implants are similar to Breast Augmentation, it consist of the insertion of silicone implants.

As for the Breast Implants, We know without a doubt Nicki had her boobs done. I personally think she did the best thing and went with Gummy Implants, which are Silicon Implants probably placed sub glandular, or under the muscle.

Either way, Hat’s off to you Nicki!! I love you bod and all the hard work you’ve put into it!!

So the day has come to where I have saved all my pennies, nickels and dimes so that I can go from an AA cup to a Full D cup!!

Dr. Cash has always been my surgeon of choice, but my patience ran out and I choose a surgeon in Louisiana, it was cheaper :-/

So, I did some research, didn’t want to use the rice to try out cc’s. I came across the Purlz™ website. Here’s an excerpt from their site:

*UPDATED Info: Now, I must note that, although I have 400cc’s, I personally think my breast look like the 450 cc picture.

I also feel as if the Purlz™ where a little bit heavier than my actual implants. Now it could be because my implants are behind the muscle. I must note they felt really heavy after the surgery, but now a month out, they don’t feel so heavy.

It is not uncommon for many women who consider plastic surgery in Houston to wonder, “How will this surgery affect my future?” Particularly with women who are considering breast augmentation, a major concern they have is the ability to breastfeed. Many women worry that by getting breast implants, they will not be able to have the option of nursing their children.

Although it depends on the type of incision, in general, most women who have breast implants will retain the ability to breastfeed. However, if the nerves, milk ducts, or milk glands are damaged during your breast augmentation, it may affect breastfeeding. Finding a skilled and experienced surgeon and talking with him/her about your concerns regarding breastfeeding is the best way to ensure your ability to breastfeed after surgery.

A lot of women are also concerned about the contents of their implants (silicone gel or saline) possibly mixing with breast milk. I am frequently asked by my cosmetic surgery patients in Houston who are considering breast augmentation: “How soon after my breast enhancement can I exercise?” Not only that, but women also wonder about which exercises they will be able to do. The quick answer is that women should wait about 4 weeks to resume aerobic exercise, and the types of exercises they’ll be able to do will depend on several factors. For instance, a woman’s physical health and strength before the procedure plays a role, as does the size of the implants she selects.

A major reason to avoid strenuous exercise while healing is because it is important not to increase your blood pressure which could result in post-operative bleeding or your incisions opening. Also, you’ll want to avoid swelling around the implant which can be caused by physical over-exertion. Wearing a good support bra while taking a short stroll is crucial to minimize pulling on the skin or sagging.

There are a few exercises specifically for your breasts after augmentation that can help to prevent difficulties later on down the road. These exercises may vary depending on the location of the implant (under or over the chest muscle). It is important that you talk with your surgeon about which exercises you should do. While it is not technically “exercise,” massaging the implants according to instructions provided by your doctor also helps to minimize post-surgical complications and properly situate the implants.

As a whole, talking with your surgeon about any type of exercise can be helpful. They will tell you how long you should wait and which kinds of exercises to do so that you can enjoy your new breasts for years to come.

If you are considering breast implants or have already had a breast augmentation procedure, it is important that you care for your implants properly and follow all of your surgeon’s postoperative instructions so you can fully enjoy your new breasts for years to come. I tell all of my Houston breast augmentation patients about these important steps for breast implant care:

1. Sleep on your back for the first week. This helps with implant placement and positioning.
2. Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 3 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting or anything that will put strain on the area.
3. Wear your postoperative bra. Wearing this bra for a few weeks following surgery will help to maintain the shape of the implants. This should only be removed when bathing.
4. Use ice packs to minimize swelling. If you experience swelling, ice packs are a good way to help relieve it.
5. Wear a good supportive bra. After the postoperative bra does not need to be worn, make sure to get a supportive bra to prevent sagging.
6. Inform your mammographer about your implants. You will need a special view with your mammogram due to your implants.
7. Get an MRI test periodically if you have silicone gel implants, as it can be hard to tell when the implants rupture.

By following these instructions immediately after surgery and beyond, you are helping ensure that you will enjoy your breast implants for a long time.

When considering breast enlargement surgery, my patients have two choices of implants: silicone gel or saline. I often get questions about the differences between the two types, so here’s a high-level overview of implant options as they exist today.

Silicone Implants

Implants filled with silicone became available in the 1960s and became a popular choice of implant. Although they were used for many years, in 1992 the use of this implant type was restricted in the United States through a voluntary ban imposed by the FDA. Over the next 14 years, many studies were done of silicone implant safety, and a new generation of silicone gel implants was approved by the FDA in 2006. Modern silicone gel implants contain silicone that is formulated differently than prior implants, with the result being that they hold together better in the event of a tear, puncture or rupture. These new implants are often referred to as cohesive or gummy bear implants.

Many women find that this implant type feels and looks more like natural breast tissue. This type of implant is generally more expensive than saline, and women who choose silicone gel implants are advised to get an MRI every 2 years because it may be difficult to detect a rupture.

Saline Implants

Saline implants were first introduced in the United States in the 1970s. They were the only implant available for a primary breast augmentation during the 1990s and 2000s, but their popularity is decreasing now that more women are choosing silicone gel implants. Saline implants contain a medical-grade salt water solution which, in the event of rupture, is harmlessly absorbed by the body. Because the implant can be filled after being inserted, saline implants can use a smaller incision, meaning smaller scars.

Some drawbacks to saline implants are that they may not look or feel as natural as silicone gel implants and may appear wrinkled or rippled at certain angles.

The bottom line is that there are advantages and disadvantages to both silicone gel and saline implants. Talking to your surgeon can help you decide which type of implant is right for you.

Breast Implant Size & Weight

Size. This is why the vast majority of us
have breast augmentation, because we want to
increase our size and/or have our breasts more
proportionate to the rest of our bodies. This
can be very distressing, because we tend to
obsess over getting the perfect size, which is
completely understandable. Some women worry
about going too big, while others worry about
not going big enough. Having realistic
expectations regarding size is a must. You would
not want to attempt to go too large, because
doing so could lead to serious complications,
which will result in more surgery, more recovery
time, and last, but certainly not least, more
money. A good doctor will not push the limits of
your body by trying to force a (too large)
breast implant into your body.

How to Choose the Right Breast Implant Size

When consulting with a plastic surgeon, it is
wise to take photos into the consult.  The
photos should depict how you want to look after
surgery.  Keep in mind that everyone’s
anatomy is different, so you will not look
exactly like the photos you show your surgeon.
However, these photos will give the surgeon a
very good idea of the SIZE you want to be.
You may be thinking that all you need to do is
tell your surgeon what cup size you want to be.
The thing you have to keep in mind is that your
idea of a particular cup size and and your surgeon’s
idea of a particular cup size may vary.
Additionally, going into a consult and saying
you want “x” amount of cc’s is also not wise.
If the surgeon agrees to give you the amount you
request, you may wind up with larger breast or worst smaller breast than
you had intended.

There are other things to consider when trying to
decide upon what size you want to be after
surgery, some of which are listed below.

• Natural or Fake. “Natural” means having a natural look after surgery. ”Natural” means that the breast has a natural slope.  It can also mean that the size you are after surgery is a size that you would look natural on your body.  “Fake” refers to a breast size that would never pass for anything “natural”, and/or “round” shaped breasts.  Some women like a look that’s sort of in between the natural and fake looks.  There’s nothing wrong with having a look that’s natural, fake, or somewhere in between.  Each woman is different.

• Your lifestyle. If you are very active, involved in sports, yoga, etc.,you may want to consider this when choosing a size, as larger implants may “get in the way.” This is not a problem for everyone, but it should definitely be taken into consideration when deciding on a size.

• Risks. The larger the implant, the bigger the risk of complications,
  such as bottoming out.  You can learn more about risks here.

Typically, implants do not appear as large as
natural breasts. For instance, if, after your
breast augmentation, you wear a D cup bra, you
will most likely appear more like a C cup in
clothes.

Implants can be easily camouflaged or
accentuated by the clothing you wear.
Loose-fitting shirts and tops tend to hide
larger breast sizes.  Basically, anything
that isn’t form-fitting can disguise your actual
size.  Knit tops, or anything” stretchy”,
will accentuate your breasts.  The same is
true for heavy knits, v-neck tops, and some
button-up shirts.

“Trying on size” prior to your consultation with
your plastic surgeon is a very good idea. If
you’re very flat-chested, ANYTHING seems big,
but you will be amazed at how quickly you adjust
to the new, larger size. It also gives you an
idea of what you’d like to look like, as well as
a rough idea of how many cc’s it may take get
that result. You can try the
Rice Test, which is a “do it yourself” sizing
method. It’s not 100% accurate, but it’s pretty
close.

Determining Bra Size & Cup Size

This is yet another difficulty that we run into
after the surgery. Studies show that the vast
majority of women wear the wrong bra size. You
may think that bra shopping will be easier after
breast augmentation, but this is not always the
case. Bra sizes run differently according to
style and manufacturer. For example, if you buy
a 34D bra from Victoria’s Secret, this does not
mean that you will always wear a 34D in all of
their bras. The same is true for other manufacturers.

Implants tend to be wider than a “natural”
breast, therefore, many of us will need to wear
a D cup, simply because the width of a C cup bra
isn’t enough.

If it does not work for you, you may
want to go to and be measured by a professional,
though this does not always work either.

To use the chart below, you will want to measure
each breast. Use a soft tape measure to do this.
Start where the breast starts at (near the
side/armpit), and measure all the way across the
fullest part of the breast to where your breast meet

 in the middle. The fullest part of the breast is usually

the nipple, but not always.

You will also want to measure the circumference your ribcage. Do this by measuring just below the breast, in the area of the crease. Measure all the way around. This is your ribcage measurement.

If your ribcage measurement is an odd #, add 5″
to get your band width. Example: 29″ ribcage +
5″ = 34″ band. If your ribcage measurement is an                                                                          even #, add 4″ to get your band width. Example:                                                                      28″ ribcage +4″ = 32″ band.
